I finally threw out their small stack of nasty old cracked and stained dollar-store brand ones and bought them new ones of a reasonable quality.
My roommates wash and re-use their beer cups. They aren’t even using them for alcohol most of the time.
I made jello shots once with cheap disposable shot glasses. They wash and reuse the handful that survived now too. They were like, $3 for a 50-pack. They’re cracking and stained and have sharp rims that cut your lips and tongue and were intended for jello shots so are low and wide so half your shot spills before you get it to your mouth to slice up your lips.
I have a full set of around 25 old solid glass (haven’t broken one yet, even kicking one down the stairs) shot glasses that I got at a garage sale or thrift store or somewhere for dirt cheap that I’ve told them time and time again they can use if they want.
I also have a bunch of pint glasses that came as promotions with cases of beer that I’ve told them over and over they can use if they want.
They still keep washing and reusing the shitty cheap disposable stuff.

We have a stack of plastic solo cups at work that they re-wash and use for beer pong. We go through paper towels and disposable silverware like nobody’s business, but ya gotta recycle the beer pong necessities.

Yeah, but how does that square shape alter the aerodynamics when you play flip cup?

It evens the playing field over a random assortment of cups of different sizes, shapes, and materials.

I could understand if that was the sole purpose, but they get maybe 5% of their use as beer pong cups. The one in the rack there was used for orange juice at breakfast. They mostly just get used as regular drinking cups. It takes the same if not less work to wash the regular drink vessels that don’t inspire them to complain that their milk tastes like stale beer.

Very. Wash is a term I used incredibly loosely. If there was drinking going on, generally they get washed while the culprits are either shitfaced or hungover.

I don’t understand any of it. No one at corporate knows we have actual glassware so we could certainly expense a package or two of solo cups! (But they can't figure out why I won't play...I've seen the crud left on everything else they wash. Ew.)

I’m still wrapping my head around beer pong at work. My job would be on the line if I was caught drinking anything from something that could be mistaken for an alcohol container.

We’re a small satellite office with no one local in charge. We generate more income and spend less per person than anyone at corporate so we get away with a LOT.
